Round Hill sailing - an unique experience
The Freestyle – Experience a 51 foot trimaran, a fast, stable sailing performance with a professional crew. The 1,500 square feet of deckspace provides the ideal platform for water activities and sunbathing. The Freestyle is equipped with a full headroom, floats, lifebelts, life-jackets, and masks and fins for snorkelers. Each member of the crew is a licensed sailboarding and snorkeling instructor. The quiet speed, comfort and safety makes sailing in the Caribbean a memorable experience. Relax in the sunbathing nets and be swept away by Raggae rhythm. Sunset Cruise - pick up at Round Hill Pier. Two (2) hours sail from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Drinks included in the rate (beer, rum-punch and soft drinks). Snorkel Cruise - pick up at Round Hill Pier. Three (3) hours sail (morning or afternoon). Stop for snorkeling - discover a reef. Drinks are included in the rate (beer, rum-punch and soft drinks). Bring a towel and sun-protection along. Misquito Cove (A Combination of sailing and beach-barbecue, sport-facilities available) is a full day tour. Pick up at Round Hill Pier. Glassbottom boat provides transportation from Freestyle yacht to beach (Misquito Cove - casual, designed in "bamboo-style", "Jamaican-rootsy" atmosphere). Upon arrival snacks and open bar, buffet with Jamaican specialties, a Calypso Band will entertain. Relax at the beach, watersport facilities available, Transportation back to hotel by bus (30 minute drive). Arrangements for deep-sea fishing or yacht charters will be organized by the Front Desk or Bell Desk, all boats or yachts will leave from Round Hill's private pier. Guest Relations arranges weekly sailing trips exclusively for Round Hill guests. Peak tourist season is also the best time for sailing: January through March. You'll find higher prices throughout the Caribbean when sailing to Jamaica during these months. Remember that, July through November, travelers will face summer rains and even hurricane season. This will cause choppy waters and possibly unpleasant conditions. Private sailing boats to Jamaica must enter the country through an official port of entry. Immigration and customs services are available at the following ports: Kingston's Port Royal, Montego Bay, Port Antonio, Ocho Rios, Port Kaiser, Port Esquivel, Discovery Bay, Bowden. Fly your "Q" flag when sailing into port. If you want to spend time cruising around Jamaica, the customs officers can issue you a "Coastwide Clearance" form. This form allows you to sail at will along the coast and must be presented when visiting other ports. You will need to clear customs when you arrive at your first port and also when you depart from Jamaica's territorial waters. Customs officers will indicate to the captain when they have inspected the ship and cleared it through customs. You will need to fill out several forms at customs, including the following: Crew list and declaration, departure permission forms from your last port of call, The ship's registrations, a list of the ship's stores.
